Ces images ont été capturées avec mon appareil photo sur un écran TV. Ce sont celles d’un festival de musique techno. En expérimentant différentes vitesses d’obturation j’ai obtenu des déformations, des distorsions, des filés, des couleurs saturées parfois aux limites de l’abstraction. Ce rendu « psychédélique » fait écho à l’état de transe collective des fans saturés de sons, de lumière et parfois aussi de substances. Les visages fondus, l’amplification des mouvements et des attitudes créent un langage expressionniste qui rappelle les masques de carnaval du peintre belge James Ensor.

These images were captured with my camera on a TV screen. They are from a techno music festival. By experimenting with different shutter speeds I obtained deformations, distortions, spins, saturated colours sometimes at the limits of abstraction. This "psychedelic" rendering echoes the state of collective trance of the fans saturated with sound, light and sometimes also substances. The melted faces, the amplification of movements and attitudes create an expressionist language reminiscent of the carnival masks of Belgian painter James Ensor.
