Durant trois ans j'ai déambulé avec mon appareil dans les ruelles du coeur historique de Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume dans le Var, bourg millénaire oublié par la « modernité ». J’ai choisi le noir et blanc pour aller à l’essentiel de mes émotions : la beauté des pierres, leur usure, celle des habitants. L’énergie de la vie qui résiste, aussi.  Et l’implacable beauté de la lumière de la Provence.

For three years I wandered with my camera in the narrow streets of the thousand-year-old center of Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume in the Var forgotten by "modernity". I chose black and white to go deep into my emotions : the wear and tear of the stones, their beauty, the weariness of the neighbours. The energy and the resilence of  life also. And the relentless beauty of the  light of Provence.
